LAY DOWN ADVICES

OUTSIDE PAVING
THICKNESS ADVISED
- It's possible to lay down flagstone of 1 to 3cm
- 2cm : standard thickness

KIND OF STONES ADIVSED
Semi-hard stones.
All stones can be used for a underfloor heating system.

LAY DOWN TECHNIQUES
Outside lay down requires to think about the water flow and anticipate a slightly fall (1cm per meter).

Outside, the lay down called « mortar bath » is recommanded. Indeed, lay down on glue is not enough resistant to frost. When water seep under flagstones, it stagnate in glue drills, frost raise up stones and then break them.

- lay down on screed coat or sand.
- possibility of edge to edge or make joints.

INSIDE PAVING
THICKNESS ADVISED
- 2 cm for terrace or intensive circulation
- 3 cm for very intensive circulation
- 4 cm for vehicles circulation

KIND OF STONES ADIVSED
Hard stones for vehicles circulation
Semi-hard stones for terrace, pedestrian use

LAY DOWN TECHNIQUES
The most adapted inside lay down is on a screed coat.

WORKPLANS LAY DOWN
Workplan must be always perfectly horizontal.
Use furniture adjustable foot to compensate floor irregularities.

Screw-down the workplan underneath by lay down screws every 60 cm. Attention, screws have to be enough long to attach securely the workplan to furnitures and be enough short to not drill workplan's surface.

You have to make the workplan waterproof by installing a back profile against the wall or applicate a silicone cover in the space between the workplan and the wall. Polish the joint with soapy water by pressing the joint with you finger.

On the dry and clean surface, apply two water-repellent covers.

SINKS AND BASINS LAY DOWN
Sinks and basins made from stones have to be layed against the wall or be boxed in dedicate furnitures.
