SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENT

Stone is a natural and ecological material. Its exploitation and its use in construction, housing and landscaping answered to sustainable development rules.

AN ECOLOGICAL MATERIAL

Old from million of years, the stone of Bourgogne is composed from marine organism sediments. Stones proposed by Tendance Pierre are directly result from this geological history.

Alive and natural, the stone must be maintain with soft products to not be spoiled : Marseille's soap or linen oil. To long term, time will be the best solution of its protection : a resistant patina is naturally created on stone's surface.

A DURABLE MATERIAL

Stone is perennial. Shelf life of stone is much higher than synthetic products (reconstituted stone, resin, ...). Its exploitation and its tailoring don't require any additive or chimical solution.
A SLIGHTLY EXPLOITATION OF NATURAL SITES

Tendance Pierre slightly exploit its gravel-pit to protect geological ressources.

When gravel-pits are not exploited any more, they become rich geological zones. Some plants and birds found there an ideal and propitious place to their development. In some cases, they become water-based recreation area. Indeed, law requires, except particular cases, to recap gravel-pits.

A LOW ENERGY COST

The energy cost of stone exploitation (exctraction and tailoring in finished produts) is particularly low despite its density.

The different actors (gravel-pits, workshops saw and tailoring) of the network are geographically close. The energy cost of transportation is thereby reduced.
The processing of blocks to finished products in workshops is realised by saw and mecanical frictions with water. Those techniques also have a low cost in energy.

A GREEN INDUSTRY

Tendance Pierre's activities answered to environmental rules by not rejecting toxical industrial garbages.

Water used by tailoring workshops to cool down cut tools and to limit the dust is filtered in a settling tank and sent back in a close circuit in the factory.

The only industrial garbages products by Tendance Pierre are calcareous muds result from the dust. This last one result from tailoring workshops. Thoses muds are used as fertilizer on poor lands.

Unworkable stone blocks are used as embankment for excavation work.
